Summary: The Valley of fear is the last Sherlock Holmes novel, in which Holmes and his assistant Watson finally begin to understand the threat their arch-nemesis Moriarty presents. When Holmes receives a tip-off from within Moriarty's circle that a man is in danger, he and Watson rush to the victim's house. They are too late. Yet certain suspicious circumstances around the death suggest that there is a greater -- and more terrifying -- mystery still to solve.
