Summary: When eleven-year-old Gus Able and her family head north on a family road trip, they end up in a small town called Calvary running an old drive-in movie theatre called The Starlight. This is where the family hopes to make a fresh start. But things aren't what they seem. The car is 'borrowed', the town is as far away from their previous home as possible, and they're really on the run--from ghosts. Despite living in a smelly old caravan at a drive-in the locals say is haunted, Gus's new life, and the chance to choose which movies to screen, could end up being the best thing that's happened to her in a long time. Always wary of making friends, Gus finds herself unwillingly drawn to Nicole, a girl from school, and a strange boy called Stevie whose past is a mystery. As the Able family work hard to make The Starlight a success, Gus wonders if this town will become their forever home.
