1 online resource : colour illustrations Website catalogued: 14 February 2017 Summary: This catalogue of material has been created with the help of five of the greatest depositories of Shakespearean material on the planet: The British Library, the Bodelian, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Folger Shakespeare Library and the National Archives, offering facsimiles of original documents linked to the writer in any way. The site is plain, and simple, enabling simple searches of documents under four main categories: Playwright, Actor and Shareholder; poet; family and legacies. While it would be optimal to be able to search the database for references to specific works, the site nonetheless offers a rich vein for scholars. Aimed more at academic research than school level interest, the documents could prove useful for teachers seeking academic material to support studies into the period; they would, however, call for imaginative application in school settings.
